Despite being quick to anger when his buttons are pushed, he's typically a friendly person. Thanks to his grandfather, he also has a strong sense of justice. HISTORY (pre-canon) Josuke was born to a young single mother as the result of an affair. While his mother always claimed that she and his father were in love, Josuke grew up without ever meeting or knowing anything about him. While growing up without a father hurt him, his grandfather served as a good male role model. When he was 4 years old, Josuke developed a high fever that wouldn't go away, prompting his mother to try to drive him to the hospital during a blizzard. When their car got stuck in the snow and it seemed they may be trapped and freeze to death, a young delinquent who was out in the blizzard helped them get their car going again. Despite never getting to speak to him, Josuke's impression of that person was so strong that he's attempted to emulate him in both appearance and attitude ever since. While Josuke's fever was a result of being too young to control his Stand properly, he became able to do so soon after. He's been using Crazy Diamond to fix things ever since then. PERSONALITY Strangers are commonly intimidated by his delinquent appearance and hotheadedness, but his rough manner of speaking belie his friendly demeanor as well as his kind and protective nature. He makes friends easily, and while he's quick to anger, he doesn't often hold grudges once a matter had been settled. His care for others manifests in his Stand, which allows him to "fix" things, reverting them back to an undamaged state. He has even gone out of his way to heal someone who was an enemy due to not wanting to let anyone die. However, his inability to use this ability on himself notes that he can be reckless and disregard his own safety when trying to protect someone. Despite his friendly and outgoing personality, when his anger flares up he is quick to use violence. In particular, he is wildly defensive of his hair and will attack anyone who insults (or whom he perceives to insult) it. When not in a rage-fueled frenzy, Josuke can be calm and observant in fights. He's quite confident in his own abilities, though still prone to nervousness when things take an unexpected turn.
